Dayalbagh Educational Institute
Accredited with a grade "A" by NAAC, the Dayalbagh Educational Institute has been declared as a deemed university by the government in 1981. It all began with the establishment of a middle school in 1917, a technical school in 1927, a girls school in 1930, a women's training college in 1947 and an engineering college in 1950. Finally, in 1973, the Dayalbagh Educational Institute (DEI) was established as a registered body which combined all the educational institutes situated in Dayalbagh.
The university also has a women's polytechnic and also imparts distance education programs. The university campus has all the facilities that a student would need - well-equipped library, high-tech laboratories, computer-centre, seminar hall, medical centre, hostels etc. The university is an active participant of the National Service Scheme (NSS) and also provides ample facilities for games and sports.
It has an EntrepreneurishipVirtual Incubation Cell (EVIC) that encourages students to develop an entrepreneurial drive by fostering innovation with a social relevance.
